Acts 19:26

"Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands"
Father God, the truth is sharp and cuts between our soul and spirit and brings to light our hidden thoughts and intents of the heart. When truth exposes lies which we had formerly believed to be truth, a battle begins to arise in our soul. It not easy to let go of what we used to hold dear. Thankfully the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and keeps urging us to acknowledge, that our former attachments to people, things and traditions are idolatry and abomination in your sight. It is only after that confession that we realize the horrible bondage idolatry is. Abba, in light of your truth, create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us. May we no longer be contaminated by the world, but washed in Jesus blood. Abba, thank you that you restore unto us the joy of your salvation and uphold us with your Holy Spirit, for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Glory!

Joshua 1:5

"There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."
Abba Father, we delight in your ways and your faithfulness to all generations. We all can testify of your goodness and mercy to the children of men. Indeed your goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our lives. You go before us and are our rear guard. The promises of men are empty and unreliable, but not one of your words is without power or impossible of fulfillment. Therefore we rely on Jesus promise who promised, just like you promised to Joshua, that he will never leave us nor forsake us. Abba, we count on you in all the troubles that touch our lives for you never fail us. We thank and praise you with glad hearts. Halleluiah

Ephesians 2:5-6

"Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved); and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus."

Gracious Abba Father, you saw humanity dead in their trespasses and sin and had pity on us. Your steadfast love never ceases, your mercies never come to an end. You began the process of redemption right after the fall of Adam and Eve, when you promised a way of escape through the Seed - Jesus. Your only begotten Son was the only pure blood sacrifice who could save your people from their sin condition. Through him you quickened us by the same power that raised Christ from the death - the Holy Spirit. By your marvelous, great grace we have been saved and by that same grace we are even now seated with him in heavenly places, far above all principality and power. You have bestowed upon us the name of Jesus to do exploits in that name here on earth, as it is in heaven. May we take courage and act on your words of promise. Amen

John 13:15

"For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you."

Most holy Abba Father, Jesus life on earth is an example to us how to live and move and have our being. We are most eager to live like that but our realization is that we fall way short of that goal. No matter how hard we try, pride, fear, discouragement and so many other human attitudes separate us from that holy life. Nevertheless Jesus expects us to do as he has done to us; speak the truth, be merciful and forgiving, be generous and be willing to give even our very life for others. Thank you, Abba for showing us our own inabilities so that we might declare with the apostle Paul that it is no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me; and because the greater one lives within, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Glory! In Him alone do we now live and move and have our being. Thank you Lord for such abundant grace - Amen

Ezra 3:11

"And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid."

Father God, we rejoice with the Israelites, who gave thanks when they saw the vital aspect of their faith beginning to be restored in spite of vehement opposition. Their firm foundation was the temple. Our firm foundation is Jesus and your Word. May we like Israel praise you and thank you continually, for your mercy endures for ever and ever. May we not hesitate for one moment to give mighty shouts of praise to your most holy name, and also know how to fall silent in the awesome fullness of your presence. We worship and adore you, bowing down before you, songs of praises singing, halleluiahs ringing - Halleluiah, halleluiah, halleluiah - Amen

Hebrews 1:2

" (God) hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds"

Father God, from you come all blessings and gifts. Thank you for Jesus, our Emanuel, whom you have appointed heir of all things. The words he has spoken, and that are recorded for all eternity in the sacred scriptures make it very clear to us who you are, who we are. O how we need Jesus, the sacrificial Lamb of God, if we are to ever hope to be able to come into right relationship with you and with each other. He is our peace, who has broken down every wall that separated us from you - the wall of sin. We worship and adore our Savior and offer a sacrifice of praise unto his name. In his name and with thanksgiving we cast all our many cares upon you, trusting that you have all the answers to our impossibilities. In our lives Lord, be glorified today! Amen

Mark 5:20

"And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel."

Father God, in his life on earth, Jesus has done many powerful things in a great variety of ways. He did not say anything, except you told him, and he did not do anything, except you showed him, thereby giving you all the glory and honor due you. The recipients of those miracles were expected to testify to all, priests, family and citizens alike of the wonderful blessings bestowed upon them. To this day you do extraordinary things for people who come to you in faith. May we be as forthright and testify of your goodness and mercy and power. In this cold-hearted world may our testimony warm the hearts of the hearers and may they in turn taste and see your goodness, beginning at the cross of Christ. Open their eyes Lord so they can see Jesus - open their ears Lord to listen to your word of truth. Glory and honor and praise be to you always - Amen
