Philippians 4:4
"Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice!"
Father God, what a beautiful command you have given us. Rejoice! It seems so simple, yet our flesh fights often against it, especially when we are trapped in a difficult situation. Why do we depend so much on outward appearances to be able to thank and praise and honor you? We repent of such foolish attitudes. No matter what we go through, you are always worthy to be thanked and praised. May we keep our minds stayed on Jesus and our hearts fixed on the cross, where Jesus gave us beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that we might be trees of righteousness the planting of the Lord, so you, dear Abba will always be glorified. We can rejoice in this truth no matter our condition, and we do rejoice. We can always be thankful, and we thank you today and for ever more, for your marvelous grace is great to cover all our needs. Halleluiah - Amen
